Community Outreach

Mid-State Beekeepers Association has a Community Outreach Committee charged with bringing a presence to local events. Its mission includes public awareness and education about honey bees and the many benefits they bring to our community and lives.  Events such as the state fair, talking to students in school, selling honey at the farmer's market, visiting libraries and other events are just some of the ways we educate the public.

Mission Statement

The Mid-State Beekeepers Association Community Outreach Program will promote and create awareness of the importance of Honey Bees in the Midlands of South Carolina. This will be accomplished through education, handouts, and professional displays at public events focused on cultivating potential new beekeepers. The secondary goal is to provide a venue for Mid-State Members to sell their products, promote their honey bee business, gain service credits toward their certifications, and carry out activities designed to inform and encourage practices by non-beekeepers which would help protect both the honey bee and other native insect pollinators.

If you are interested in a presentation to your group, please contact Kevin Cullis to get connected!
